Confirmation of your reservation
When you make a reservation, please note that we may ask for a credit/debit card number in order to GUARANTEE availability of your requested vehicle. We do NOT overbook our vehicles in order to reach full utility. In certain cases, a deposit is also required. We will contact you via the telephone and/or e-mail in order to request a deposit and/or credit/debit card number in order to guarantee availability.
Cargo Van Rentals
The van you are renting is a commercial vehicle which has driving and parking restrictions: it may not be driven on parkways or roads that do not allow commercial traffic; parking is restricted on some streets.
These are the insurance choices you will need to decide on that will affect the amount of money authorized on your credit/debit card. Please contact us if you would like further information.
Out of the 250 Mile Radius.
The posted rates are not valid outside of the 250 mile radius.Not all destinations are allowed. You must get written authorization to travel out of this area.Many destinations are okay at higher rates. Talk to us and we will do our best to tailor a package that is just right for you.
Weekend Rentals
Saturday rentals must be returned by Sunday 9.00 am to be charged one day.
Holding Vehicles
Aamcar Car Rental will hold a confirmed vehicle for a period of 30 minutes after the scheduled time or until closing time whichever is shorter. For example: if the office is open until 3:00pm and your reservation is for 2:00pm we will hold it for 30 minutes, if the office is open until 3:00pm and your reservation is for 2:45pm we will only hold it for 15 minutes. Since rental cars in Manhattan are often sold out, we remind our customers to call us in the event of a delay past 15 minutes.
Locations
We have one location in New York City to serve you.
315 West 96th street is located in the Upper West Side and is easily accessible with the 1, 2 and 3 subway lines.
Debit cards
We only accept Debit Cards issued by a major banks or credit unions ( Chase, TD, Bank of America, Citi Bank, Wells Fargo, Capital One, MCU, USAA,).
The total deposit required at the time of pick-up can be $200-$1,200 plus the cost of the rental depending on your insurance deductible. Please call the office if you have questions regarding the amount that will be held at the time of pick-up.
Credit authorization amount
When you rent a car in New York, authorizations vary. Please ask your reservation agent how much you will need to have available for your particular rental.
Gas / refueling
Our rental rates do not include the cost of gasoline. We usually start you out with a full tank of gas. In order to maintain our rates in New York, we request that customers refill prior to their return. You should be aware that a refueling cost will apply if the vehicle is returned with less gas than you started out.
Please refuel as much as possible before you return the vehicle as the current refueling rate is $9.50 per gallon.
Personal management override
In certain circumstances, "policies" do not make sense. In those cases, the General manager/owner is available to see what can be done, even override certain policies.
RENT BY THE HOUR
Rent by the hour
Hourly rentals are only offered during off-peak seasons. Hourly rental rates start at $15/ hour. Two hour minimum required for hourly rate.
Age Requirements
Minimum Age: 23
Age 23 to 24 - Surcharge of $40.00 per day applies. Driver must have license for at least 3 years with NO moving violations.
Age 25 and overIf you are 23 years old, please call our office for approval to rent. A surcharge will apply.
If you are AT LEAST 24 years old, you can rent cars, 7 passenger vans, Cargo Vans and SUV's using the published rates, however you will not be able to rent 15 passenger vans.
If you are AT LEAST 25 years of age, you can rent any vehicle INCLUDING 15 passenger vans.
Additional Drivers
1 additional drivers permitted
Minimum Age for Additional Drivers: 24
Additional drivers must also qualify as if they are renting the vehicle themselves. This policy is open to anyone wishing to have a rental car in New York.
Fuel Policy
Vehicles must be returned with the fuel tank: Full
Fuel will be charged at 9.50 gallons
